So you’ve signed up your website builder plan, you’ve built your website, and you’re ready to reach your audience! What’s next?
We’ve compiled a list of small but impactful steps to set your website up for success, as well as easy mistakes to look out for to ensure optimal results from your website. It’s worth double checking that these steps have been completed in order to give a polished and complete online presence.
Verify your domain name with ICANN
Check your email for a verification email from us on behalf of ICANN. Follow the steps and click the link so your domain does not get suspended.
Publish your website
Just click Publish in the top left of the site builder to make your website live!
Set visibility to ONLINE for your website and all your web pages
Ensure you don’t accidentally have your home page or website set to “Coming Soon” when it’s ready to go!
Update social media links in the template
In the header and footer, click on the social media icons to edit the links with URLs for your own accounts.
Add Site Titles and Page Titles
Add SEO titles and descriptions for your website and web pages to help you get MORE traffic from the RIGHT visitors.
Upload a custom favicon
Customize your website’s icon in browser tabs and search results! Upload a .ICO format image in Site Settings > Website Settings > Enable Favicon.
Submit your website to Google Search Console
To show up in Google search results sooner, create a Google Console account and submit your website to be crawled.
